"Each dish was mouth-watering and so healthy that I was having three servings without putting on weight. In fact I lost half a stone in a week without trying."

Locations & Food

Our Bush Location is called:

TUMAREN
Tumaren is a three thousand acre game ranch in Laikipia, Central Kenya, a two hour drive from its nearest town, Nanyuki which in turn, is an hour's flight from Nairobi, Kenya's capital.

Tumaren comprises several different wild-life and vegetation scenarios - ever-green trees along its river banks; birds around its marshes and dams; elephants roaming its grass lands; hyrax climbing the rocky outcrops where we meditate at sun and moon rise.

A river marks the Ranch's southern border, Masailand its North while un-fenced, flanking ranches allow game to migrate unhindered across the borders.

At Tumaren Ranchs base camp, participants wake up in comfortable private tents to a view of watering animals and nesting birds along its river banks. We use bush toilets with a view, canvas basins and hot water bush showers are available whenever you want. We sleep direct on the ground on thick mattresses with good warm bedding and as we safari from one site to another, the camels sway ahead, carrying our mobile camps on their backs and ensuring that everything is ready and waiting by the time we trek in.

Each mobile venue has its own individual character. Sometimes we find ourselves sleeping out on rocks under a full moon. Sometimes we are treated to a piece of inland savannah with open grasslands. But where ever we are, theres always a shady awning and a flat tarpaulin calling us to a welcome and restorative yoga practice and which is always followed by a luxurious shower and the most spoiling meal you can possibly imagine!

The living is simple, al fresco, and we eat from pretty tables under the trees or sit round an evening fire.

Our Coast Location is called:

BARAKA HOUSE
Nestled in a strip of indigenous forest, Baraka is an elegant and peaceful villa with five balconied bedrooms over-looking an impeccable beach while two flat roofs command panoramic views of the Indian Ocean, palm plantations, moon-rise and sun-set. Each bedroom is en suite and there are several comfortable communal areas.

Also

Depending on group sizes, we sometimes use Shuma House which is a tree house in the forest made of squiggly diftwood with a fairy storey atmosphere.

FOOD
Is delicious, fresh, simple, pure, vegetarian and fish - all foods are non-refined, non-processed, with many raw options and an emphasis on providing a diet that will sustain your energy evenly though the day. One optional glass of wine per day plus coffee or tea can be requested, but we encourage a caffeine/alcohol/junk and smoke-free two weeks - the perfect opportunity to detox and glow!
